Question: What is Design Veronique compression wear used for?
Design Veronique compression wear is designed and manufactured specifically to aid patients recovering from aesthetic or reconstructive surgery. Every piece of Design Veronique compression wear is designed and manufactured in our California headquarters for wear after a specific procedure. With over 85 styles, we have the ideal garment for your post operative wear.
Our garments are designed to make post-op recovery easier. Adequate compression in surgical sites plays a crucial role in healing, but a garment won’t be worn if it is uncomfortable. Through a unique fusion of design, fabric, and construction, our garments provide the ideal balance of compression and comfort. Plus, they maintain compressive properties throughout the entire healing process and during periods of extended wear.
Each garment incorporates gradient compression technology and strategically placed inner panels in key surgical areas for the right compression in the right places. This precision design delivers better overall comfort and enhances healing.
Our exclusive powernet fabric stretches both vertically and horizontally for greater support than other fabrics. This breathable, lightweight material is durable and resists runs. And all our garments are latex- and formaldehyde-free.
Question: Why can't I just wear one of my girdles, a pair of athletic tights or a jog bra?
It is essential that the compression garment worn during the recovery period provides targeted compression, something that is not found in a standard girdle or athletic tights. Athletic tights, girdles and jog bra's also do not have flat seams, multiple zippers for ease of application, an open crotch and are not intended for long term wear.
Question: How long should I wear the garments?
Please follow the guidelines your Doctor has provided and consult your Doctor with any questions about the length of time you should wear your garment. Generally, it is recommended that a zippered garment be worn for 5 to 7 days after surgery and a non-zippered garment for 6 to 8 weeks for your comfort. We recommend that you have multiple garments in order to always have a laundered garment on hand.
Question: Can I use a Design Veronique garment even if I didn't have surgery?
Yes. Design Veronique garments, especially the non-zippered styles, can be worn by anyone. Our garments are designed to provide exceptional body contouring support, the non-zippered garments are ideal for extended, everyday wear.
Question: How do I put my garment on?
If you are going to apply any garment at home, we recommended that someone assist you. All garments are designed to be easy to apply, but they are designed for a snug fit to ensure proper compression. Please make sure that you are completely dry before putting on your garment. If you feel fatigued at any point during the application of the garment, please take a moment to rest.

Zippered girdles and body garments
If the zipper becomes snagged, please do not attempt to force the zipper in any direction. If the zipper does become snagged, please take the garment off (to reduce tension on the zipper) and gently work the zipper until it moves freely again.
Assume a seated position in a chair or on a bed and unzip all zippers completely (if the garment has two zippers on the sides, please unzip both zippers) and unhook the front closure of any shoulder straps. While seated, step your legs into the garment and slide it up to your knees and/or thighs. You should now, remaining seated, be able to gently position the garment into place on your upper body.
Standing up very slowly, and using the chair or bed to provide support, pull the garment fully into place, making sure the crotch opening is correctly positioned. If you do not feel comfortable standing up, please lie on your back to apply the garment. If the garment has shoulder straps, they can be positioned and fastened at this point. Please fasten the hook and eye closures on one side of the garment and then slowly pull the zipper closed.
When one side of the garment has been zipped closed, you can now secure the hook and eye closures on the other side. Please note that this side will be more difficult to close- if you have someone assisting you please ask them to help you. Once the hook and eye closures are fastened, the zipper can slowly be pulled closed.
Non-zippered girdles and body garments
Unhook the front closure of any shoulder straps and assume a seated position in a chair or on a bed with the garment next to you.
If you have someone to assist you, they can help with the positioning of the garment. Once the garment is positioned, the shoulder straps should be fastened and adjusted.
Facial bands
Please stand in front of a mirror when putting on any of the facial bands. Watching yourself in the mirror will help you as you position the facial band around your face, head or neck.
The facial band should be laid on a flat surface with the Velcro strip face up. Pick up the band, positioning your hands at the ends of the band. Position the middle of the facial band underneath the chin while extending the ends of the band up over your head. The side of the band without Velcro should be placed against the crown of the head first. You can now place the side of the band with the Velcro over the top of your head, making sure the Velcro strip is flat and secure. You can then position the two smaller straps on the front and back of the head to hold the facial band in place.
If you are using the 210N, the strap that goes around the head should be positioned first.
Bra’s
Design Veronique bras have a number of adjustments that can be made to achieve a comfortable fit. The majority of styles have adjustable hook & eye closures on the back of the bra for maximum adjustability. To put on the bra:
The hook & eye closures found on the back of the bra (if applicable) should be fastened on the middle row of the hook & eye closures, the front hook & eye closures should be separated and the shoulder straps should be loosened (if applicable). Slide your arms through the opening between the shoulder strap and bra, but do not tighten the shoulder straps. You should now be able to close the front hook & eye adjustment, starting at the bottom closure and working up. You can now adjust the shoulder straps to the desired comfort.
If the bra is too tight or loose, take the bra off by separating the front hook & eye closures and adjust the back hook & eye closure to loosen or tighten the fit. Please repeat the above steps to put the bra back on.
If you are using style #4510, the adjustable breast band should be fastened once the bra has been put on.
Question: Why do I need to wear a high quality post operative compression garment after my surgery?
Wearing a high quality post operative compression garment can help you during the recovery process in the following ways:
Reduce swelling (edema) and flush potentially harmful fluids from your body- the garment will provide compression on the skin that will push body fluids away from the skin, helping to reduce swelling and aiding in flushing fluids from your body. Flushing fluids from your body can help reduce bruising and the risk of infection during the healing process.
Aid in body contouring and skin retraction- the compression from the garment will help hold skin firmly against the body, aiding in proper skin retraction and general body contouring.
Improve comfort during healing process- A properly fitted, high quality compression garment will make you much more comfortable during the recovery process by reducing swelling. In addition, the lightweight, breathable material will make you much more comfortable when wearing the garment for extended periods of time.
Question: Why should I use Design Veronique Garments?
Design Veronique is the leading designer and manufacturer of compression wear due to our attention to detail in both our garments and our service. Our garments are specifically designed to aid in the comfort and recovery after a surgical procedure. Some of the features that make Design Veronique compression wear superior:
Fabric- our exclusive powernet material is comfortable, lightweight, breathable and dries quickly. The powernet weave provides the ideal amount of constant consistent, compression. Many other fabrics or weaves lose the compression properties or “memory” over time- powernet does not. Powernet is designed to provide the proper amount of compression from every direction for constant wear during the recovery process.
Design- the garments are designed to address a specific medical procedure, this is why we have over 85 different garment styles. Our garments feature details such as flat lock stitching, no seams at key surgical areas and all labels on the outside of the garments that will minimize "marking" on the skin and help make you more comfortable during the recovery process. We have also incorporated a sense of style in the garments- we know that the garments might be worn for an extended time and want them to be as stylish as possible.
Materials- we use the highest quality powernet and cotton fabrics, highest quality YKK zippers lined with a comfortable cotton zipper tape, hook & eye closures and threads. When these materials are combined with our workmanship and quality control, we are confident that your Design Veronique garment will be comfortable, dependable and durable. None of our garments contain any Latex or formaldehyde.
Gradient compression technology- Design Veronique uses gradient compression technology to ensure the ideal compression support in key surgical areas. This technology means that a Design Veronique garment will provide compression support for all areas of the body while providing the ideal level of support in key surgical areas. The combination of general support and targeted compression improves comfort, results and can even reduce the overall recovery time.
Manufacturing- We design and manufacture all garments in our corporate headquarters in California- our state of the art facility includes computerized design and manufacturing. Having the design and manufacturing in-house ensures the highest quality control standards in the industry. Question: How do I know which garment is best for me?
We have over 85 different styles of garments, a garment for wear after any procedure. Your choice should be based on a number of things, including the type of procedure that you are having, the amount of time you will spend in the garment and even the color of garment you would prefer. Please consult our garment finder for help finding the ideal garment, or call one of our Consumer Specialists at 800.442.5800.
Question: What kind of fabric is used in making the garments?
We use an exclusive powernet fabric that is soft, lightweight and breathable. The powernet fabric is very durable and will continue to maintain its' shape and form after being worn and laundered. All of our garments are completely latex free.
The powernet fabric stretches both vertically and horizontally to provide greater support and compression than other fabrics. The vertical and horizontal stretch of the material enables Design Veronique® garments to provide consistent compression equally from all angles, reducing post operative discomfort while aiding healing.
Design Veronique® powernet fabric will maintain compressive properties throughout the entire healing process. The powernet weave is designed with a state of the art compressive memory and will resist runs, making this material ideal for extended wear.
Question: Do Design Veronique Garments contain any Latex?
Design Veronique compression garments do not contain any Latex, formaldehyde or any other products that could cause irritation or an adverse reaction.
Question: Why are the garments crotchless?
The garments are designed to be worn constantly. An open crotch allows you to use the facilities without having to remove the garment. The size and location of the open crotch is designed to be anatomically correct while providing compression in the surrounding areas.
Question: Why should I order more than one garment?
We recommend that you have at least 2 zippered garments and 1 non-zippered garment. Immediately post-operatively you will need a zippered garment, the zippers make taking the garment on and off much easier. The garment worn immediately post operatively can become stained and soiled very quickly and will need to be laundered. If continues compression is needed, a second zippered garment can be worn to maintain continuous compression.
Within a few weeks post operatively a non-zippered garment can be worn. This garment is designed for extended wear and to help contour and shape the body through additional compression panels.

Question: Why do I use my pre-op measurements for sizing?
Although you will be smaller after your liposuction procedure, post-operative swelling typically means you’ll be the same size as your pre-op measurements immediately after your surgery. As the swelling subsides, you can begin to wear a non-zippered garment that will provide a more contoured fit.
Another reason- your zippered garment will be applied immediately post operatively, while your measurements are very close to your pre-operative measurements.
Question: Can I wash my Design Veronique garment?
Your garment can be hand washed. The garment should be washed in cold water and line dried- washing your garment in hot water or drying the garment with an electric or gas dryer may ruin the garment. To remove any stains, the garment can be soaked in 2 or 3 gallons cool water with a 1/4 cup of peroxide added. After the garment has soaked, it can be hand washed and line dried.
