Size Recommendation for Non-Zippered, 2nd Stage Garment

Wednesday, July 21st, 2010

Hi,

I currently have 2 garments I purchased from you, #853  zippered  body girdle they are 2xl.  I had my tummy tuck a month ago and I’m interested in moving to the non zippered second stage garments. I’m particularly interested in the Non-Zippered High-Back Body Garment Style #1653H  and the Non-Zippered High-Back Full-Body Girdle Style #1655H.  My question is about the size.  I’m wearing mine right now and it fits tight but comfortable.  Do I still keep size 2xl for the non zippered ones?   Current measurements are 41 inches hip 38 inches waist with some swelling below ribs.  My confusion is that my measurements put me in different sizes, and the 2xl I’m wearing now is tight enough.  What do you recommend?  I would be buying both garments.

Thanks for a prompt reply. Ada

Hi Ada,

Thank you for your email.  I’d be happy to help you select the right size garment.  If the zippered style fits you well, and you can handle a little more compression, I suggest you order the same size in the non-zip.  The non-zip styles are cut a bit smaller and have added support panels, which make the garment more compressive, therefore being tighter and harder to apply.

Thank you again for your interest.  Please let us know if we can answer any futher questions or assist you with an order.

Patient to Patient

Tuesday, July 6th, 2010

I don’t think folks in general understand the importance of good compression garments.  I read the document on your website when I first had surgery.  I encountered severe issues with fluid and was looking for a garment that would help.  I found it in Design Veronique!  I just re-read the information yesterday to remind myself because I’ve had subsequent surgery and don’t want to encounter any problems.

I am very compliant in wearing the garment 23 hours per day, taking it off only to shower. Sure it’s sometimes tempting to not wear it, especially in the heat of the summer.  However, when I think back to what the purpose of the garments are doing for me I deal with it.

The nicest thing is that Design Veronique offers custom garments.  Customers like me that have had multiple surgeries know what they like and what feels comfortable.  The ability to get something that is designed to my specifications is fantastic.

I’ve given Design Veronique’s name and website to others that I know that have had surgery and have encouraged them as well to use proper garments to aid in healing.

Running and Compression Bras

Thursday, May 20th, 2010

Hi,

I had breast reduction surgery on march 19th of this year.  My doctor said I was cleared to return to running…however…the pain is still there…so I was wondering if your company made a compression bra that I could wear along with my sports bra.  The pain is associated with the up and down motion caused by running…I hope you have some idea.

Thanks,

Sarnia

Hi Sarnia,

Thank you for your email and interest in our breast wear collection.  Here are some items that I suggest.

Josephine #465

This item provides compression and should help minimize movement when running.  You can wear it over your regular sports bra.  You may want to order one size smaller than your under bust measurement indicates.

6” Breast Wrap #510-6 or the 9” Breast Wrap #510-9

Not pretty, but when wrapped tightly, will greatly help minimize bounce.  Once again, this one can be worn over your regular sports bra.

I hope these items are what you were looking for.  If you have any questions, please feel free to ask away!

Have a great day.

MARIKO-QUESTION- I AM A VERY OBESE WOMAN, IN TH EPROCESSS OF LOSING WEIGHT. I’D LIKE TO FIND A BRA THAT REALLY PROVIDES SUPPORT WITHOUT KILLING MY SHOULDERS. I SAW THE SOPHIA BREAST CONTOURING VEST AND IT LOOKS LIKE IT WOULD DO THE TRICK. WHAT IS YOUR SUGGESTION?

Mariko Says:

Hi Teresa,

Thanks for your message. That’s an excellent question and you are totally on the right track. We have a lot of patients that use the Sophia Vest for support while exercising so they can lose weight in order to qualify for breast reduction. Any of our compression vests are an excellent option for support without laying it all on the shoulders. My favorites are the Sophia and Josephine.

Thanks again for your interest. I wish you the best in your weight loss journey! If you have any questions, please feel free to ask away!

My question is about what bra to buy. I had my breast implants removed.

Wednesday, March 10th, 2010

Hello,

My question is about what bra to buy. I had my breast implants removed.

So far, I have been wrapped in an Ace bandage.  I am interested in purchasing the Allyssandra - 2″ Band Cotton Knit Bra #454. I like the look of it best.   I am only concerned about the seam below the cup. It appears that the seam corresponds with the location of my incision. How well is this bra suited to my needs?

Thank you,

Nancy B

Answer:

Hello Nancy,

Thank you for your email and interest in the – Allyssandra 2″ Band Cotton Knit Bra #454.

The band sits below the breast, right on the crease.  If your incision is below the breast, you may want to consider a different bra that extends lower.    We actually have a maternity style similar to the Allyssandra, and the band sits lower, which shouldn’t interfere with an inframammary incision.

Here is a link to the maternity style: Everyday Bra with Seamless Comfort Cups #MB420

Here are the instructions for measuring for a maternity bra and the size chart.

If you have any furthers questions, please ask away!

Thank you,

Mariko

Response:

Dear Mariko,

Thank you! What a pretty bra. I ordered it right away.

I am sooooo glad I found Design Veronique!

Best regards,

Nancy

Lumpectomy Healing Bra

Wednesday, March 10th, 2010

Question:

I had breast surgery to remove cancer area from my breast, they said to wear a sports bra, nothing is comfortable and every time my breast moves (stairs and walking) it is painful.

I have to have another surgery since they did not get it all. Is there a bra that you can recommend for this? I do not see anything specifically for Lumpectomy healing.

Thanks Amy

Answer:

Hi Amy,

Thank you for your email.  I highly recommend the Josephine - Full Coverage Support Bra Style #465.

This vest provides excellent compression and stability to the breast, decreasing movement, thus increasing comfort.

The measurement required to size properly is under the bust:

Measuring Instructions: Before surgery, measure around the chest, directly beneath the breasts using the diagram on the right as a guide. This is your under bust measurement. Select the size from the size chart that matches your under bust measurement.

If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to email or call me directly.

Kind regards,

Mariko V. DiBiase

5 STARS FOR DESIGN VERONIQUE

Hey guys! I’m 21 and thankfully I don’t have gynecomastia (thought I did at one point but was ruled out) fortunately/unfortunately when I’d gained weight I’d gained a lot in my chest however its hereditary - when my dad started getting a gut the manboobs also started, as with me. I still lift weights however lacked cardio/strict nutrition and hated my body was just too lazy to do anything about it. Would always wear button up shirts with a tight singlet to try hold my gut/manboobs in the thought of trying a compression vest and went with the Design Veronique Vest.
